Issue
A division of Blue Cross/Blue Shield of South Carolina, Companion Technologies began as a value-added reseller (VAR) of practice management (PM) and electronic medical records (EMR) software, handling the integration, training and updates once the software was purchased. They eventually decided to purchase one of the vendors as a basis for developing their own products. Companion then needed a new face to put out to the marketplace by building a brand that could incorporate the multiple companies into one entity.
Solution
In record time, PPBH removed Companion from the features/benefits/price wars and gave them a results-oriented branding solution — the result being Companion Technologies improves office life. Enter feng shui. Companion was positioned as a company that could bring peace and simplicity to the workplace. The campaign gave the feeling of relaxation, stress-reduction and order through the use of high-end 3-D direct mail pieces that included Chinese exercise balls. Images of a peaceful woman in a meditative position were also used in the mailer, as well as in trade publication advertising and tradeshow support.
Results
Qualified sales leads increased 40% and the pipeline has remained full for over one year.
